Camden County Sheriff's Office has established a memorial for our fallen deputies. It was conceived to remember and celebrate the lives and accomplishments of the members of the Camden County Sheriff's Office family who paid the ultimate price in service to us and to the entire Camden County community.
 
John A. Hazelton died in a car crash on March 5, 1964
Dennis Ray Herring shot and killed on August 30, 1974
Walter Nathan “Nicky” Coleman died after being struck by a vehicle on May 19, 1985
Carlton Daniel “Dan” Jenkins shot and killed on August 28, 2000
In honor of these deputies, and in conjunction with National Police Week, Sheriff Bill Smith has established endowments at four local colleges, Coastal Community College, Armstrong Atlantic State University, Valdosta State University and Georgia Southern University.
