BIOGRAPHY

  • Born 12/13/1961 to Ruth and Ted Proctor of Woodbine, Georgia

  • Camden County High School graduate, Class of 1980

  • Received a Bachelor’s in Business Communications from Valdosta State College

  • Inducted into the Order of the Arrow (Boy Scouts of America)

  • 1988 Outstanding Young Men of America

  • Hired as a Corrections Officer in 1988 for Camden County Sheriff’s Office

  • Georgia Post Certified Peace Officer in 1989

  • Elected in 1989 and 1993 to Woodbine City Council

  • Married Holly in 1993

  • Elected Camden County Commissioner in 1994

  • 1997 first daughter, Clare, was born

  • Served on Gateway Community Service Board

  • Served on Board of Directors for Camden House

  • Member of Woodbine Lion’s Club (past president)

  • Member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (past junior and senior warden)

  • 2001 second daughter, Ansley, was born

  • 2011 Melvin Jones Foundation Award

  • February 2012, resigned from CCSO

  • March 2012 hired as a Police Officer for Brunswick Police Department

  • November 6, 2012 Elected Sherriff

  • December 14, 2012 Received Georgia Sherriff’s Association Certification from the Sheriff-Elect Academy

It is our Mission to act in the capacity of the constitutionally commissioned chief law enforcement agency of Camden County. We have the duty to preserve the peace and protect the lives, person, property, health and morals of the people.

 

We are the keepers of the County's Jail and we are the arm and sword of the courts.
