PHYSICAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
CORRECTIONS PT TEST:
All new applicants and corrections officers in the jail will be expected to participate and complete the following physical and aerobic capacity time-dependent events:
-
Push-ups (Timed) As many as possible in one minute
-
20-yard dummy carry
-
Sit-ups (Timed) As many as possible in one minute
-
Air squats (Timed) As many as possible in one minute
-
Stadium climb (Timed) Up and down continuously 5 times within 7 minutes
-
¼ Mile Run / Walk (Timed)
All Georgia POST certified Peace Officers (deputy) that are new hires whom will fulfill a deputy position as well as all current Georgia POST certified Peace Officers (deputy) will be expected to participate and complete the following physical and aerobic capacity time-dependent events;

Flex Evaluation – Sit and Reach (Best of 2 attempts)

% Body Weight Push – Bench Press (Best of 5 attempts)
-
1.5 Mile Run (Timed)
-
Agility Run (Best of 2 attempts)

Completion level for the above described events will require a 15-percentile efficiency for employees hired after 16 March 2016 and prospective employees for hire. To obtain a position within the Special Operation Division, all current and potential employees shall complete the PEB at the 25-percentile.
PEACE OFFICER PT TEST:
ALTERNATE TIMES FOR THE 1-MILE WALK:

Men under 40: 13:01 – 15:30

Men over 40: 14:01 – 16:30

Women under 40: 13:31 – 16:00

Women over 40: 14:31 – 17:00
Attire for participation in the testing / evaluation will be weather condition appropriate with athletic footwear conducive for running or walking.
