WARRANTS DIVISION

Scott Chaloult is a Paralegal and supervises the Warrants Division. Each day the court system issues criminal and civil warrants, numerous types of civil papers to be delivered to individuals named on the legal paperwork. Each week there are inmates transported to different locations, many times in other States, or returned to Camden County to appear before one of the numerous Courts. Five employees work in this section logging paperwork, serving legal papers, and providing prisoner transports. All personnel report to the staff of the Jail/Corrections Division.

Warrants - All warrants in the county with the exception of Kingsland and St Mary's municipal courts. Receiving approximately 4,000 warrants a year with close to a 90% served rate.

Civil Paper Service - The Warrants Division receives and interprets approximately 5,000 civil cases a year with close to a 90% served rate.

Validations- 90% of all validations for the Camden County Sheriff’s Office is also done in this division.

The Warrants Division executes Writ of Possessions as a levy officer / acting as a mediator for the courts between the Judge that issued the judgement, the Plaintiff that's owed the judgement and the defendant. This involves seizing of property and selling it on the court house steps.

Protection Orders -Maintain approximately 750 active protection orders in our county.
