CCSO APPLICATION PROCESS

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

Digital documents may be scanned documents, photo images and PDF files:
Digital copy of your High School Diploma or equivalent from a recognized accredited institution

  • Digital copy of your Social Security Card

  • Digital copy of your DD214 Form (if applicable)

  • Digital copy of your Driver’s License

  • Digital copy of your Birth Certificate

  • Digital copy of your Credit Report

  • Digital copy of your Law Enforcement Certifications (if applicable)

  • Digital copy of your Additional Personal History Statement (if applicable)

*DO NOT SUBMIT AN INCOMPLETE APPLICATION*

*Do not submit an incomplete application. Incomplete or partial applications will be discarded without consideration. You will not be contacted by this office or requested to submit what should have already been submitted.

*There is a list of documents that is required for this application to be processed. Do not submit an application without any of the documents required. Do not submit the application and ask to bring in any documentation required at a later date or time.

*There are multiple places on the application that need to be signed and dated by you as the applicant. You will be rquired to sign, date and notarize a document in our office prior to the oral interview.

*One of the documents required to be submitted is a current credit report. This can be obtained free of charge thru various sources on-line. ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM or CREDITKARMA.COM are two options of many. You may obtain credit reports at no cost and with no effect on your score. NOTE: Responses from these site will give you a one page report with your credit score reflected and another section with the full credit report: The full credit report may be from five to twenty pages or more depending on the amount of information contained in your credit file. BOTH are required. There may be occasions, often for very young applicants wherein there is no credit history. The credit reports will reflect this and still needs to be submitted.

*You are applying for employment with a Law Enforcement Agency. A detailed background investigation will be conducted to determine your eligibility for a State of Georgia Certification through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST). A previous criminal arrest may not necessarily prohibit you from obtaining a certification. A false statement or willful omission on this application Will prohibit your employment with this office. Additionally, a false statement or willful omission will become a permanent entry and may prevent you from completing an application with any other agency, State, Local, Federal or Tribal. Your personal integrity, trustworthiness and credibility may not be in question.
